Merit Positions of Nust Medical 2014

Everyone who appeared in Nust Entrance Test for medical programs is waiting for the merit positions and the merit list which were supposed to be uploaded in September 2014. No fixed date is given by Nust administration for the display of merit lists, they say the merit list will be uploaded when all the data is compiled. It may take a week or may be more. 

Why the list got delayed?

Nust asked the students to upload the marks of Fsc part 2 by 19th of September but not all of the students uploaded the marks. So Nust is contacting them to complete the data and upload the marks. As soon as all the required data is obtained the merit positions will be uploaded. We shall announce it on the page and update the closing merits in this same post.

Schedule of NET (Nust Entrance Test)

Schedule of Nust Entrance Test(NET)

According to the Nust administration the schedule of NET for the year 2015 will almost be the same as was in year 2014. So below is the tentative Schedule of tests for 2015 sessions. There can be a minor changes in it, in that case we will announce them. This schedule will be followed for all the fields that are being offered in Nust ( Medical , Engineering, Business Studies, BS Math, BS Physics, Arts)

Schedule of NET-1:

Registration Starts: End of November, 2014
Registration Ends:  December 18th, 2014
Test Dates: December 2014 - January 2015

Schedule of NET-2:

Registration Starts: March 7th, 2015
Registration Ends: April 7th, 2015
Test Dates: March 25th - April 12th, 2015

Schedule of NET-3:

Registration Starts: May 9th, 2015
Registration Ends: June 15th, 2015
Test Dates: June 14th - July 14th , 2015

Syllabus for Nust Entrance Test (NET)

Syllabus for Nust Entrance Test

Some of the books of Federal Board have been changed so this creates a confusion from which books we should prepare for the Nust Entrance Test?

We have two categories of students:

a) The students who appeared in Fsc part 1 exams recently and are in part 2 now. These are studying the new course.

b) Repeaters. These studied the old course.

In case test is made from new course, repeaters might be at loss and in other case the fresh students at loss.This time Nust decided to conduct the tests from the previous books. One of the main reasons for this step is that Nust already had a question bank which is being used since last two years for NETs. In order to make new questions for the tests they would need much time.

This is a good news for the repeaters but a bad one for freshies as they have to go through both the books. The news about the syllabus is confirmed from Nust admission office. A screenshot of email is attached  in this post as a proof.

The test will be conducted by NTS, the pattern is as follows:

Time allotted for the test: 
2 Hours (120 minutes) are provided to solve the test.

Marking Scheme:
For each correct answer you will get 4 marks. And for each wrong answer one mark will be deducted. Zero mark for unattempted questions.

Syllabus of the test:

Tuition fee:
The annual tuition fee is Rs 600,000.

Last year the test was much tough so the merit fell down a lot. The last student to get in was having about 69% aggregate.

Inertness Of Nitrogen:

                                    Molecular nitrogen is inert under ordinary conditions existing as diatomic nitrogen N₂. The presence of a very strong triple covalent bond renders it nonreactive under normal circumstances. Nevertheless nitrogen does react with alkali metal lithium to form a compound Li₃N, even under ordinary conditions.

Under high temperature and pressure and with right catalyst nitrogen becomes more reactive. Haber's process uses such conditions to form ammonia. Inert atmosphere consisting of gases such as argon , nitrogen or helium are commonly used in chemical reaction chambers and in storage containers for water and air sensitive substances to prevent any side reaction.
